Church History

In 1985, there was a group of Christians in Boston Chinese Evangelical Church, saw a need to evangelize to the second largest Chinese populated area located outside of Chinatown, Allston and Brighton, they rented an American church building in Allston for worship. With that vision, a sister church of BCEC, Chinese Evangelical Church of Metro-Boston was established on 6/30/1985, in Allston, MA.

The church became independent in 1986. Wanting to be more effectively comply with the missionary mission enacted by Jesus Christ, CECMB joined US Christian And Mission Alliance in August 1997, and changed the name to Greater Boston Chinese Alliance Church.

In 2000, we purchased the current property in Brighton until now. In the local Chinese community, we actively promote outreach work, lead people to the Lord, and witness the power of the gospel to change people’s lives. We continue to work hard to carry out the Great Commission. Outside the local area, our church participates in global missions, donates to C&MA Great Mission Fund, and subsidizes various missionaries, missionary organizations and seminaries. The church also sent short-term mission teams to Panama and Brazil. Looking ahead, the church continues to focus on leading people to the Lord, teaching Bible truth, equipping believers, spreading the gospel, and loving God and people.

Stepping into 2022, the church has received the vision of “Becoming a Bright Lampstand” and will strive to equip believers with Biblical truths, strengthen the relationship between the congregations, know the truth of God, and bring healing and revival in the challenges of the global epidemic.
