
Rev. Dr. David and San Yip
David has been a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Hong Kong and
has ordained by a local church in 2001 as an ordained pastor; he and his wife, San, have
been ministers and people helpers serving in Hong Kong for almost 34 years; they moved
to America in 2020. David graduated from the Alliance Bible Seminary in 1987 with a
Bachelor of Theology. He then graduated from the China Graduate School of Theology in
1994 with a Master’s in Counseling. He taught at Bethel Bible Seminary and the China
Bible Seminary as adjunct faculty for counseling and served as pastor in charge at three
Hong Kong local churches until 2000. He then founded two local churches and a
counseling institute in Hong Kong and served as senior pastor and president. He finished
his Ph.D. in counseling from Christian Bible College in 2008 and graduated from
Columbia International University in South Carolina with a Doctor of Ministry in 2017.
He was the adjunct faculty for counseling at Olivet Nazarene University and the
Nazarene Bible College. Now he is an adjunct professor at Simpson University in
Northern California and the Hong Kong Institute of Christian Counselors. As a
psychologist and a social scientist with experience in psychological counseling and
supervision for almost 30 years, he is currently a member of the American Psychological
Association (APA), American Counseling Association (ACA), and American Association
of Christian Counselors (AACC) to maintain his professionalism.
Besides counseling professions, he has been ministering to people with the works of the
Holy Spirit and signs and wonders at church, including inner healing, prayer for the sick,
and deliverance. He testified that many believers were healed and recovered by the power
of Jesus and converted their lives from sins. In his ministry, he is a preacher, evangelist,
Bible teacher, caregiver, and disciple trainer; he is also a guitar player, a song composer, a
lyrics writer, a member of the Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong (CASH), a
worship leader, and a trainer for worship. He wrote a book focused on counseling for
earthquake survivors and victim helpers in 2008 when a major earthquake happened in
China. He was a columnist for a major newspaper in Hong Kong and was a guest speaker
for one of the major radio stations and a Christian TV station in Hong Kong. His mission
is to use his life to impact people to become Christ’s disciples with a positive outcome
where the Lord leads him.
David and San married in 1989; they have a son Caleb who graduated from the 2nd year
of BSSM at Bethel Church in Redding, Northern California. The mission of this family is
to bring more families to Christ and to impact the next generations. David is now the
senior pastor at Greater Boston Chinese Alliance Church.
